About Us
The California Outdoor Recreation Foundation (CORF) was established to partner with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Off Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation Program. CORF will provide promotional materials for this historic milestone, as well as assist in the planning of OHV Safety Week, a new annual program with a goal of educating thousands of recreation enthusiasts throughout California.

CORF Board of Directors

CORF is a non-profit foundation dedicated to promoting the safe, responsible, and sustainable use of vehicles used off highway on public lands and is supported by donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, land agency partners, and other stakeholders who benefit from the Off Highway Motorized Vehicle Recreation Program in California.

The CORF Board of Directors is a dedicated group of volunteers, who bring a wide range of experience and synergy across the spectrum of off-highway vehicle recreation, including environmental stewardship, safety and education. We invite like-minded partners, state and federal agencies, manufacturers and recreation-based organizations to join us in this celebration.

Amy Granat
Director

In 2000, as a single parent with a 4WD truck, Amy returned to off-roading to spend quality time with family. Disability had taken away her ability to travel easily on two legs but enhanced her ability to drive with four tires! Off-roading soon became her family’s passion. In 2005, Amy started the Comments Project with Bruce Whitcher and have taught over eight hundred off-roaders, equestrians, mountain bikers, rockhounds and agency personnel how to write substantive comments on federal and state documents for land management analyses.

Amy currently serves as Executive Director of Sierra Access Coalition, after previously serving as Natural Resources Consultant for the California 4WD Association for 2 years and Managing Director of the California Off-Road Vehicle Association for 14 years. Additionally, she is a Master Tread Trainer for Tread Lightly! and serves as a member of their Board of Directors. She is proud to be an inaugural board member for the California Outdoor Recreation Foundation.

Amy has served on countless recreation roundtables and committees including those for the State of California, the OHVMR Commission, the Recreational Trails Program, the Forest Service, among many. Amy received the Impact Award for Advocacy from the Off Highway Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2019 and the California Off-Road Recreation Association Past Presidents Award in 2025, the latest of many recognitions she has received for her decades long commitment to her fellow OHV recreation enthusiasts.

Diana Mead
Director

Diana Mead relocated to California in 1987 and began her OHV adventures shortly after. Initial trips were to Stonyford with her husband’s sandrail and a family tent. Over the years the OHV stable grew and is now home to a plethora of green sticker vehicles. Several trips to Dumont, and St. Anthony Dunes happen every year, now with a comfortable motorhome. Born and educated in New York State, the outdoors has always been a staple in her world. Hiking portions of the Appalachian trail or camping trips exploring the National Parks, nurtured her respect for our public lands. Family history of dirt track racing made the transition to motorized off road travel feel natural. That, and marrying a passionate off roader ensured a healthy addiction to this recreation. The addiction inspired advocacy for an under represented community. Diana is a Past President of California Off Road Vehicle Association, where she also served as Northern Director, Assistant N. Director and Clubs Representative. She volunteered for years as a member of Escarabajo Buggy Club, and as a liaison for Carnegie SVRA. She has testified in Sacramento in support of OHV recreation and believes policy and politics are not the same thing. Following corporate positions with fortune 500 companies, Diana is semi retired from the small business she runs with her husband. Her four children have gifted her with 8 grandchildren making her proudest job that of “Grand”.
