California State Parks, Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division in partnership with Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association and the ATV Safety Institute are offering free training and activities to help you get the most out of your OHV. Classes are being offered at many locations in California. These classes will help sharpen your skills to ensure that your adventure is both fun and safe for everyone.

FREE ATV Classes
To enroll in an ATV Class call (800) 887-2887. Classes are filled on a first come/first served basis and Classes listed here may be full. Please call for up to the minute availability. Thank you.
As a prerequisite for taking this hands-on training all riders must complete the online E-Course found at cbt.svia.org. Please bring your Completion Certificate to the class. Students must bring their own ATV and riding gear and E-Course Completion Certificate*
To enroll, contact the ATV Safety Institute (ASI) at (800) 887-2887. Bring your age appropriate ATV and riding gear: DOT approved helmet, goggles, full fingered gloves, long sleeved shirt or jersey, long pants and over the ankle boots. Age recommendations found in your Owner’s manual or attached to your ATV will be followed. Examples of age stickers are:

*Class participants must bring copies of the E-Course Completion Certificates to class. Visit cbt.rohva.org to access the E-Course. They can take a screenshot on their phones, print it out, or at least provide the Completion Certificate Number to the Instructor in order to take the hands-on class.
